GRAPHIC DESIGN

Everything I've designed
(that's worthy to show, at least)

Sadly, @jake_the_artist has been deactivated.
"Swan Song" was the final and most detailed piece of my high school career. Though I have expanded from just this baroque style of art to more graphic designs, this piece still remains near and dear to me.

Labyrinth
Labyrinth was a piece constructed at a low point in life, the goal being to visually describe my chronic struggle with A.D.D.
For a long time, it took away my ability to act upon my creative spark, and that fire within me was nearly snuffed out.
(It couldn't keep me down forever, though)

The K logos
The K logos were designed as concept pieces for a client pursuing a hockey business.

Ad Man
Ad Man has been the primary investment of my creative time for quite some time. Because of my extreme "quality over quantity" tendencies, the videos I make surrounding this character take months, sometimes up to a year. It may take a while, but certainly not due to lack of effort, that can be assured.

Aqualux
Aqualux was a creative endeavor by me as a part of my marketing class in college. Designed as the logo for subaquatic tourism across the Florida Keys, the design I came up with was meant to feel luxurious while paying respects to the sea.

The Film Club

The Film Club

By far, the majority of my graphic design has been for one thing - the Umass Lowell film club. As a proud advocate and active member of the club, I've devoted this section of my site to everything I've made for them.

UML Film club poster
When the club was still in its infancy, we needed to get the word out. What could I do that screamed "film" better than anything else? copying an existing brand, of course! Clearly inspired by 20th Century Fox, this was our very first mass produced poster, courtesy of yours truly.

Rowdy 1
The first logo design I made for the Film Club, I wanted to make Rowdy (our college mascot) look loud and proud. Inspired the eagle sitting on the United States Code of Arms, this was my first manifestation of Rowdy the filmmaker.

Logo drafts
With a much more circus-type vibe as the goal, I envisioned something that really embodied the performing aspect of the club. And where has better performers than the circus?

Auditions
At some point, you're going to need actors. It's a part of making films. Still in the midst of my circus themed ideas, this was the result. For the record, auditions went quite well.

Engagement fair
My college has what we call the Engagement Fair, where all of the students conglomerate in order to find new clubs to join. This was my way of getting our pictures to stand out, in contrast with everything else at the fair.
(The QR codes still work! not sure why you'd use them, though.)

Merchandise
Every good institution needs good merchandise. These pieces are simple and casual, but the pairing with our logo makes it iconic enough to stick out and pull eyes in group environments.

Summer work

Summer work

A good collection of work I have done over the summer. all of the following work is not for any club or deadline, but rather purely for the love of doing it. And because this section is still actively being updated, no picture frames. We're not hanging these designs up quite yet.

Ad man man myth legend.jpeg

A common pattern of mine throughout this section is making designs for my alter ego, Ad Man. You can learn more about him in his own section of the site.

A promotional piece I did for Ad Man's shortfilm trilogy, created, produced, directed, etc. entirely by me. The process was an absolute blast.

Unrelated to Ad Man, I simply thought the posters for the Willam DaFoe movie "The Lighthouse" were interesting, and decided to make my own.

My personal favorite of the promotional pieces is this poster of Ad Man's main adversary, The Dread. A truly horrifying villain, to be sure.

A simple concept piece, this is not a film that exists (yet...)

This is one of those ideas that simply comes to you. I just saw the vision while sitting around, and knew that it would be a fun piece to put together.

This design is inspired by something I have wanted to do for a while: a mob movie. Of course, it would be an Ad Man mob movie, but a mob movie no less.

Thats all for now, but come back soon! I'm always making something new, and will update these as soon as I possibly can.

What are you all the way down here for? go back up!
